About us
Today, genome editing is almost as easy as programming software. However, the generation of viral vectors as initial material is still associated with many expensive and error-prone handling procedures. Viruses are generated via complex biological processes that have to be optimised virus-specifically in order to produce high-quality therapeutics. A new method is needed that simplifies and optimises these processes.

So on July 1, 2022 started the the European biointelligence project BioProS. It is funded in the framework of the Horizon Europe call “Digital and emerging technologies for competitiveness and fit for the green deal”. The project duration will be 48 months and the consortium is consisting of seven partners from five countries: Fraunhofer IPA and Fraunhofer IGB, Germany, Politecnico di Milano, Italy, Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany, NecstGen, the Netherlands, Elvesys, France, EurA AG, Germany and BICO Group AB, Sweden.
The project's targets
BioProS sensor concept makes use of an optical sensor technology in combination with cell-based measurement principles. In this context a platform technology will be developed that can be adapted to multiple specific analytes which enables its applicability in different industries and production settings.
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon research and innovation program under HORIZON-CL4-2021-DIGITAL-EMERGING-01-27, grant agreement no. 101070120.
